Source: photoreview The four new models feature an innovative design, including a self-opening paper tray that prevents paper jams plus a new Auto Scan mode that can identify the type of original and scan documents as PDF files and photos as JPEG images with one click of the 'Scan' button. The updated Auto Photo Fix II feature provides automatic correction for common photo printing errors, such as underexposed images, through Multi-Zone Exposure Correction and improvements in overall face detection, scene analysis plus brightness and saturation correction. Another new feature on the PIXMA models is Easy-WebPrintEX software, which makes printing documents from the web much easier. The Auto Clip feature lets consumers select part of a Web page to print, enlarge text size, and combine clips from multiple pages into one printed document. Users save paper and ink by printing only the information they need. Canon's FINE print head technology is also included to provide fast, high-quality printing. The MP490 and entry-level MP270 offer simple, intuitive operation at an affordable price, and work straight out of the box. The MP490 utilises Canon's ChromaLife100+ four-color ink system and can print out a lab quality borderless 4 x 6-inch photo in approximately 43 seconds. Under the new ISO print speed standard, the MP490 will create letter-sized documents at approximately 8.4 ipm for black-and-white documents and approximately 4.8 ipm for colour. |
